Plain-language privacy

Your sounds stay with you.

Sound Pattern Playground is a local learning instrument. It has no account, advertising, analytics, cloud model, or recording server.

In short: microphone audio and the labels you enter remain in this browser’s IndexedDB unless you export a file yourself.

Microphone access

The playground asks for microphone permission only after you check the consent box and choose Start listening. Each recording stops after four seconds at most. Denying permission does not expose any audio to the site.

Data stored on your device

The browser stores your short audio clips, three sound names, visible feature summaries, classifier guesses, and any misclassification marks in IndexedDB. This lets the experiment survive a refresh and work offline.

Data that leaves your device

None. There are no third-party runtime scripts, trackers, fonts, analytics beacons, or cloud inference requests. Installing the offline app downloads only its interface and artwork.

Export and import

When you choose Export dataset or Export features CSV, your browser creates a file and gives it to you. You decide where that file goes. Import merges a selected playground JSON file into local storage after confirmation.

Delete your data

Delete one recording beside its specimen row, or choose Erase all local data to remove the whole collection and label settings. Clearing this site’s browser data also removes everything.

Safe use

Do not use this illustrative classifier for identity, emotion, health, medical, safety, or sensitive-trait decisions. It is designed for sounds made by actions and objects.
